Family Medicine Resident Physician
As a first generation physician, this award would help alleviate significant financial barriers in order for me to become a stronger physician leader and advocate. It would also allow me to connect with similarly goal oriented established physicians and practitioners to broaden my clinical understanding of how to affect change on both individual and systemic levels in the current U.S. health care system.

Chief Resident-Elect, Family Medicine
This scholarship will allow me to further strengthen my ability to provide thoughtful and patient centered care by ensuring my patients fully understand their diagnosis and treatment plans. I believe the best outcomes come from building collaborative relationships with patients and creating care plans that align not only with their personal goals and values, but also with my goal as their physician to help them achieve long term health and wellness. Additionally, this opportunity will support my continued training in functional medicine, allowing me to better help patients understand the underlying causes of their health concerns rather than simply treating symptoms. My goal is to provide comprehensive care that empowers patients with knowledge, prevention strategies and individualized treatment approaches that improve their overall quality of life.

Family Medicine Resident Physician
As a family medicine resident, I spend most of my time focused on the patient sitting in front of me. What excites me most about this scholarship is the opportunity to learn how physician leaders can improve care for entire communities while never losing sight of the individual patient. That's the kind of physician I hope to become.
