Rubén E. Quirós-Tejeira, MD, FAAP, FAASLD, NASPGHAN-F Chapter Chair Led by Dr. Rubén Eloy Quirós-Tejeira, a nationally recognized pediatric gastroenterologist & hepatologist and tenured professor of pediatrics at University of Nebraska Medical Center, the NHMA Nebraska Chapter serves as a statewide hub for Hispanic healthcare leadership. Dr. Quirós-Tejeira brings over 30 years of experience in academic medicine, clinical care, and health equity advocacy. As Chief of Pediatric GI and Pediatric Vice-Chair for Internal Affairs, his commitment to health equity and inclusive excellence and mentorship positions the chapter as a vital connector for physicians and community partners dedicated to reducing health disparities.
Under his leadership, the chapter expands culturally responsive care and professional development through policy forums and networking events. By leveraging Dr. Quirós-Tejeira’s extensive background in national pediatric committees and Hispanic health advocacy, the Nebraska Chapter works to elevate Hispanic voices in medicine, ensure equitable access to care, and inspire future leaders committed to the well-being of underserved communities.
