NHMA's Houston Community Health Fair was a collaborative effort that brought together local organizations, including the Houston Department of Health and Ibn Sina Foundation in Houston. The event focused on providing essential health services, such as COVID-19 and flu vaccinations, alongside additional offerings like free HIV testing, breast exams, general screenings, dental check-ups, and more.

Highlights from the health fair include:

  • Over 104 COVID and flu vaccines were administered to all ages.
  • Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee's presence as a special guest, emphasizing the critical importance of vaccinations.
  • The Houston Hispanic Dental Association screened 50 individuals, contributing to dental health awareness.
  • The Alzheimer's Association distributed 850 at-home COVID tests, with approximately 425 distributed at the fair and the remainder allocated to various organizations for wider dissemination among their clients.
  • In addition, Stephanie Vicknair, RPh from Walmart Pharmacy Neighborhood Markets, joined us to share valuable insights on Flublok and RSV.
